In the spring of 2024, Tree House set off on a journey to the vibrant hop fields of New Zealand, drawn by a shared pursuit of quality and innovation with our long-time farming partners. Our goal was clear: to hand-select the finest hops for the year’s brews and to explore new varieties that capture the unique character of the region. This journey was more than sourcing ingredients—it was about deepening our connection to the landscapes, people, and traditions that shape New Zealand’s rich hop-growing heritage.
Paradisi is our way of bringing this experience back home. Named to evoke a slice of paradise, it’s a beer crafted around a novel hop grown by our friends at Freestyle Hops in Upper Moutere. We knew it held something truly remarkable when we encountered this hop in the field. This variety captures the sensory essence of New Zealand’s terroir, bringing an unexpected depth and complexity that continues to surprise with every sip.
The journey of Paradisi begins with a burst of fresh, bright grapefruit, which gives way to a lush, tropical profile of juicy guava, ripe orange, and sweet mango. Layers reveal subtle hints of melon, a touch of creamy vanilla, and lively citrus notes that create a rich, full-bodied experience. As you continue, a delicate dankness joins in, adding a layer of intrigue that evolves with each sip, while a trace of pine lingers softly in the background, a quiet nod to the classic American Cascade hop.
Paradisi is a taste of our experience, a tribute to the unique flavors found in the fields of New Zealand, and a reminder that there’s always more to discover in the world of hops.
