About Julius

  • Origins

Before the inception of Tree House, Tree House Co-Founder Nate Lanier was deeply immersed in the craft beer world. His fascination took a pivotal turn after he experienced the enchanting flavors of Rochefort 8, a moment that sparked his passion for crafting exceptional beers. Inspired by this revelation, Lanier embarked on a brewing odyssey, laying the foundation for what would eventually become the renowned Tree House brand, celebrated for its distinctive beers, including the iconic Julius.

Julius originated in a humble kitchen setting in Ware, Massachusetts. This beer represents the culmination of Tree House’s fervent aspiration to fuse American hops' vibrant, fruit-forward character with the transformative magic of a specially curated yeast blend. The result is a beer that not only tantalizes the palate with its harmonious interplay of flavors but also stands as a testament to the artistry and innovation at the heart of the Tree House ethos. It is a cornerstone of the Tree House legacy, sought after by connoisseurs and casual drinkers alike.

  • Evolution

    Evolution

Tree House is the House that Julius built.

In the early days of Tree House Brewing Company, we utilized the hops we could get our hands on. This often meant we used different hop lots from different growing regions in each successive batch.

Recognizing this challenge as far back as 2013, Tree House has spent the last decade sourcing the best hops for Julius possible through extensive travel of the Pacific Northwest and relationship building with hop farmers who understand our needs.

The result is an uncompromising, continuously improving American IPA that is notorious for winning over the most stubborn of palates!
