An ongoing glimpse into Tree House.

The energy and focus of the Tree House team at any given moment is extraordinary. It is easy to grow accustomed to the madness of a brewery on a mission with regular tank arrivals, construction projects, equipment arrivals, retail sales, brewing experiments, shots in the dark, and so much more. This stream was built to enjoy and reflect upon the soul, energy, people, curiosity, and relentless spirit that goes into Tree House Brewing Company. Photos are taken the week of posting. Short stories may also intermingle with daily photos. Best viewed on a desktop or laptop. Enjoy!

Project Find The Limit

Today we are introducing a new project that aims to find the limit of what is reasonably enjoyable in a hoppy beer. There is no doubt the idea of ‘more’ is appealing and utilized by breweries across the world, including Tree House. But, how much is too much? What value does ‘extra’ dry-hopping bring to the enjoyability of a beer? With this project, we will pull back the curtain and find out.

Each batch will contain a progressively greater residual sugar content and dry hop. Once we arrive at eight or more pounds per barrel of dry hop, we will begin to take a poll as to whether we have Found the Limit on a given batch. We will find the limit when 50% or more voters suggest that we not take the project further. Or, when we can’t reasonably add anything else to the tank, whatever comes first.

Upon the conclusion of the project, our hope is that we can together refocus on balance, flavor saturation, and drinkability…. we hope to have a lot of fun and learn a lot about each other while doing it!

A direct feedback loop

On Friday we released an extraordinarily special cold brew and whole bean pairing for your enjoyment. Over the last several years, we have built a relationship with Pablo & Eva Del Cid - The stewards of an incredible coffee farm in Guatemala.

We purchase coffee directly from them, and this year have taken the additional step of investing in the future of their farm and the quality of its coffee with the purchase of an eco-friendly wet mill.

Not only will this contribution help them grow their operation, but it will also enable a greater focus on quality control and attention to detail - attributes Pablo & Eva carry in spades.

This is not commodity coffee - it is exceptional and distinctive; the result of the unrelenting dedication of generational farmers working to improve and refine their offerings.

As you enjoy this coffee, we ask you to consider the care that went into growing and producing it, and the value of a direct feedback loop whereby roasters and growers collaborate to raise the bar of value and quality across the board. It's truly exceptional.

Hello Queen Julius

We packaged Queen Julius on the morning of October 14th. It draws heavily from the King in construct but also utilizes additional classic American hops to impart a subtle pine and floral note. This is one of our favorite new beers of the year - there is no doubt.

Haze On The Move!

Tree House is located on 110 beautiful wooded acres in Charlton, Massachusetts. In order to enjoy the glorious, elevated, west-facing views of our taproom, we have often been faced with extremely challenging construction-related conditions of a topographically varied property. When constructing our new warehouse, it was determined that it needed to sit 21’ below the existing grade of the brewery floor. And thus, a giant wall was built, and moving goods between the two structures requires a freight elevator. We will take it for that Sunset Patio view!
